Check out my newest creation!

So as most of you know, I've been running Sean Woolstenhulme's "fansite" since 2003. (Sean was Lifehouse's guitarist circa 2002-2004ish incase you don't know..and he's Rick's brother!)

This is my third redesign, and it is now located at seanwoolstenhulme.com. (It had been desertrockstar.com which still works, but redirects.) I've been talking to Sean, and he wants to buy seanwoolstenhulme.com to work on it himself with a friend, but I'm putting this up for now.

The new site is pretty simple - all on one page. A lot links to his MySpace page which I also run. Not only do I enjoy keeping people up to date on what he's up to (which is hard to find out sometimes), but it gives me a chance to work on my web design skillz.

So without further ado, I would love it if you'd check out the new site!

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks! :)

An excerpt from "Foreign Tongue: A Novel of Life & Love in Paris" by Vanina Marsot

This passage resonates with me, because I think it kind of describes my life right now:

"Even when I was miserable about Timothy in Los Angeles, I still had to eat, sleep, work, pay bills, and guilt myself into going to yoga class. I followed a routine, and it kept me sane. Going through the motions, however mechanically, gave me a semblance of progress, at least movement through time.

Up to now, I'd had a similar - if pseudo - schedule, organized around regular work hours translating for Monsieur Laveau, long walks, hanging out with friends, and seeing Olivier. Funny how quickly I'd gotten used to it. But now? No more Olivier. Probably no more job. I lived in a borrowed apartment. I didn't have to be anywhere, anytime. My friends here had led regular lives before I came, and they'd continue to do so whether I stayed or left. I didn't intersect in any real-life way, and with no job, I'd have to go home pretty soon.

...All around me people went through motions and actions with purpose, with rhythm. I'd come to a standstill. I was stuck in place, treading water, while the rest of the world swam by."

hey everyone...

as you may or may not know, my boyfriend, who lives in the netherlands, has tried to get into grad school over here for archeology this year and last year. however, he found out this week that they did not accept him yet again, because there are so few spots for international students. so he's now looking into internships or volunteering, or maybe a job in something related to archeology of the southwest/mexico and native americans out here. i was wondering if you guys would know of anyone who might be able to help or take him on, or anywhere he could look? he's looking into the national and state parks, as well as museums in arizona. if you'd have any ideas or know anyone, that'd be great.

thanks. :)

also..

my aunt mary, who lives here in arizona near me, has a son who is an actor in chicago. she's my uncle's second wife, so i guess that makes him my 2nd cousin or something? well anyways, he has a mid size role i guess in this new larry the cable guy movie coming out next month i believe. it's called "witless protection" lol. looks pretty silly, but i think it's pretty cool to know someone in it! he was here for xmas so i got to see him again after like 7 years since his mom and my dad's brother got married. but yeah.. i just watched the trailer for it, and he's actually in it a good amount of times! just have to know what he looks like, lol. his name is dan waller. here is a screen cap:

he plays "agent orange" haha. here is a link to the trailer if you wanna check it out:

has anyone driven 6 hours, spent a day in the blazing hot sun, stood up front for hours, and waited for a band... only to hear that right before they're about to go on, that the show has to end due to unsafe wind?

that's what happened to me yesterday with lifehouse. IT SUCKED!!!

however, the day/trip wasn't a complete waste. i did get to see vegas for the first time. we did see fuel front row, which was good. also up close for vanessa carlton, who forgot words to "white houses" and how "a thousand miles" started. (not impressive.) and, we were able to talk to rick and bryce some after the show. i was with 3 fans who had never really met the band before, so that was exciting for them.

so yeah, there are some pluses to it all. but still! i went to see lifehouse play, and it didn't happen. :'( really really dissappointing... you think your favorite band is about to come on and rock your face off, and then...they don't. really sucky.

i am lucky that they will be here (arizona) tomorrow, so i have a second chance. i REALLY hope this show goes on (it should), and i hope it is amazing, lol.

i have lots of photos of videos from the day and weekend that i'll upload at some other point. but for now, i have a video clip of fuel doing "shimmer" (please forgive the bad singing from me): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjMyNZRvKgM

annd here are a few photos of me and my new lifehouse friends with some of the guys:

hey guys..

my older brother plays guitar in a group called the ultrasonic rock orchestra. they play covers of songs by the who, the beatles, queen, bowie, and some originals. it's a really fun/awesome show to see live. my dad taped one of their performances recently, and has the videos up on you tube for promotion. if any of you are interested, we'd love it if you'd check them out. :) and if you do, let me know what you think! thanks. :)

hey guys,

as some of you may know, hanson is having this contest. the winner will have a song written by them. to win, you have to have your banner clicked the most. (the banner just takes you to their website.) i would appreciate it if you guys could help me out by clicking on it a few times (or more :-D). thank you!

back from arizona
[info]cayte
i was in arizona for two weeks to see family and have some job interviews. and the verdict is......

i got a job! :)

it's actually not at that first place i was thinking. it was at the first place i interviewed at. they called me back two hours later and made me an offer. i still went to two other interviews i had, but i ended up accepting their offer. :)

my job title i guess is "web/graphic designer." it's at a company that sells window blinds, ceiling fans, and rugs. i get to design the graphics on their web pages and emails, seen by 100,000+ people a week. they are doing quite well right now, and are growing. they have two web developer guys right now, and one of them was also doing the design stuff, so i will take over that designing from him. they're also going to hiring one more web developer/programmer. so i guess they're be doing all that coding stuff, and i'll be making things look pretty. ;)

it seems like a cool place.. pretty small company right now. more guys than girls.. there's some 20-year olds, and then 30 and 40s. they're all nice and laid back. their motto is something like, "work hard, play hard." basically, if you're doing your work, they don't care what else you do. some of the guys enjoy playing command and conquer, lol. so i guess that's cool.. it won't all be serious.

also, their products are used on shows like extreme home makeover. one of the owners seems to be friends with the host, ty pennington. ty has a store where he sells our stuff. so that's neat.

i'll be working part time from home for them until i move out to arizona in august. you can see my work on one of their websites, blinds in the weeks to come. also, if you sign up for their email, you'll get that every week which i'll be making as well. :)

so yeah.. i have a job! crazy yet cool.

the rest of my time in arizona was pretty nice. spent time with my family which i liked. nothing else too eventful happened. my dad and i took a lot of pictures, which i uploaded all online. you can check those out here and here... OR i just put up a few, if you don't feel like looking through all of those on myspace and facebook.

that tis all for now. :)

Also, some other pages may take a little time to load, but don't depair! It is working, and it's worth it. :) Thanks, and I'd love to hear what anyone thinks.

so... koen left today. i hate goodbyes with him. i feel like my heart is breaking. i get so used to being with him, and then he has to go away. basically, it sucks. he's so sweet and i love getting to live life with him. so hopefully everything will work out, and when he comes back in july, it will be the beginning of our new lives. but we'll see what happens... i find it funny/surprising that my parents allude to us getting married. i mean i'm still not completely sure... it's only been 1-2 years, depending on what you count. i think we need to see each other on a regular basis to figure that out. but it's still nice my parents do that.. shows they can tell how serious we are, and that they approve. :)

so i had a pretty nice, relaxing time while koen was here. the first few days were hard, because of my living situation at school. but, that got straightened out and my roommate (and friend since freshman year), moved out last weekend. so last week koen and i had the apartment to our selves. but now i'll be going back alone, for the remaining 5 weeks of the semester. i'm a bit worried about how that will go... i always need something to worry about. but it shouldn't be too bad, i think.

anyway, the first week koen was here was very nice weather-wise. so we went to some nice outdoor spots around newport then. on thursday we recorded our radio show, which has still yet to be aired (as far as i know). :/ that whole situation frustrates me also, and i've pretty much given up on it.

friday was probably our favorite day. the weather was very nice this day as well. we went to the roger williams zoo in providence, ri on our way back home. it was fun seeing all the animals there.

saturday we went into boston. walked around the parks and river area. it was colder, but still nice. got some dinner, and then went to see the band nine days play at harper's ferry in allston. (they're the band that had that hit "story of a girl.") that was fun..

the second week wasn't very eventful, but it was pretty relaxing. i went to some classes, we hung out, koen made dinner... :) it was nice, like living together. we came back home again wednesday because i didn't have anymore classes for easter. thursday we went back into boston to see my friend's senior graphic design show. we also went to my movie theatre after with them and saw "grindhouse." interesting movie(s)..lol. then yesterday we went bowling, played some games at home, colored easter eggs, and watched "happy feet." and today he left. :(

well, it was good to spend some time together. now i gotta finish up this semester, graduate, go to arizona and hopefully find a job, come back home for a while, koen will come back, and we'll go from there i guess.

i uploaded some of my photos from the past couple weeks. we didn't take as many this time. i guess when you're not doing as much, it seems pointless to take many. i'm gonna see if koen wants to upload his or which ones before i do anything with those.

photos

i also watched a very interesting show on global warming today. it's basically about how the reasons the media and politicians are giving about why it's happening is wrong. we don't need to be so freaked out about this. everyone should watch this and know the truth.

the great global warming swindle

my radio show
[info]cayte
Hey guys.. so some of you may know that I've been a part of my school's radio station for the past few years. Well we're finally back on the air (sort of), and I recorded my first show 2 weeks ago. There's been some issues, but it's finally going to air this week. Here are the times:

Tuesday, 20 March @ 1:00pm EST
Tuesday, 20 March @ 6:00pm EST
Wednesday, 21 March @ 6:00pm EST

And you can listen here: http://www.live365.com/stations/wsru?site=pro

So if you're gonna be on a computer during those times and can listen, that would be awesome! And if anyone can record it, that will be cool too.

Koen and I will be doing a radio show while he's here next week. Once I get the times that that show will air I will be sure to let you all know as well. :)

And I play good music.  :P Some Lifehouse of course... also a song by a certain Lifehouse fan... so check it out if you can, and let me know what you think! Thanks. :)

man... this semester is really hard. the work never ends, and it's really getting to me. i'm not used to working and being so busy with school and stuff for so long. it's really been stressing me out and getting me down. and the fact that i see no end in sight for a while doesn't help. after school, i'll be working 40+ hours a week probably. i miss when i could relax at night and during the weekends...no more. i could really use a break. i don't know when that will be... :(
